Barcelos

Barcelos is a small city in northern Portugal famous for the legendary Barcelos rooster.

While being a roman settlement, it expanded and ultimately became the seat of the first Duke of Bragança in the 15th century.

In fact, if you visit this wonderful town on Thursdays, you will find, its bustling traditional market, attracting people from the whole Minho region. After all, one can find here all possible kinds of fruit and vegetables, traditional tools, delicacies as well as various handicrafts and souvenirs…
